Permanent makeup is a popular procedure that emphasizes attractive features and delicately masks imperfections. In the course of work, the master uses professional equipment – an apparatus with thin multi-needles that insert pigment into the skin to a depth of 0.5-1.5 mm.

Areas and work techniques

Permanent is performed on different areas: eyebrows, eyelids, lips, areola. The master creates an ideal shape and fills it with a dense uniform shade, which remains unchanged for 1.5-3 years (depending on the zone, technique, skin characteristics).

Permanent makeup and tattooing are not the same thing. There is a difference between the pigments used, the depth of their implementation, and therefore the result is significantly different. Permanent make-up in the modern sense lasts up to 7 years.

BROWSeyebrows permanent makeup

In the past, tattoo pigments were used for eyebrow tattooing, which contained complex metal compounds. This led to a distortion of the shade over time, fading, the appearance of reddish, blue, green tones. Modern pigments for permanent makeup have a different composition and behavior in the skin. They do not go deep into the dermis, which is why the duration of the effect is shorter than that of outdated tattooing, but the quality of the procedure is also higher.

Nowadays, masters offer clients to make permanent eyebrow makeup using hair, powder, shadow and other techniques, or with a combination of different techniques. Everything is aimed at achieving a naturalistic, harmonious result.

EYES

eyes permanent makeup

To emphasize the expressiveness of the eyes and add volume to the eyelashes, the PM eyelid techniques will help: inter-eyelash, arrow effect, arrow with shading. The procedure makes it possible to correct the asymmetry, the fit of the eyes, slightly change the incision, and make them visually larger.

LIPSlips permanent makeup

The actual lip permanent is done in watercolor technique,
ombre, permanent lipstick technique. The entire shape is evenly filled with pigment in one shade or combination. As a result, the girl is relieved of the need to tint her lips, while they look as if with lipstick or tint. Coloring allows you to visually enlarge the lips, add seductive shine, and improve the feeling of skin tone. Other modern techniques – tattooing along the contour and shading – are also aimed at visual enlargement and correction of the shape of the lips.

Advantages and disadvantages

Modern techniques are very different from tattooing as it was at the dawn and peak of its demand 20-30 years ago. Today, permanent make-up gives a light make-up effect. The disadvantages of the procedure are much less, so we will list them, and after that we will move on to the advantages.

NEGATIVE SIDES OF PM:

  • Permanent makeup lasts up to 2 years. This is an advantage, but there is a nuance: if the procedure is done poorly, the shade is poorly selected, the pigment is unprofessionally injected, then this result will either have to be corrected or tolerated for a long time.
  • In rare cases, against the background of changes in the hormonal background, the shade can change as it heals. This should be taken into account and not to plan the procedure for menstruation, lactation, pregnancy, endocrine diseases. The listed circumstances are contraindications to the procedure. Added to these are pigment allergies, recent surgery in the work area, skin lesions.

If the result is far from what you expected, you can remove the permanent makeup. For this, a special remover is used.

ADVANTAGES OF THE PROCEDURE COVER THE DISADVANTAGES:

  • The client does not need to waste time in the morning to put on makeup. She falls asleep and wakes up beautiful, confident, satisfied with herself as long as the permanent makeup lasts.
  • The result looks as natural as the client expects. Through the choice of technique and shade, it is possible to achieve a bright or, conversely, natural result.
  • Permanent makeup is always flawless, it does not need to be corrected during the day, as usual. It will not smudge in the rain or on the beach, gym or pool.
  • Helps out those who suffer from allergies to the components of decorative cosmetics and foams, gels, micellar water for makeup remover.

Permanent is not painful, because the procedure uses an anesthetic cream. Since the pigment is injected into the upper layer of the epidermis, and the needles are very thin, only tingling sensations will be observed in the skin.

WHAT IS BETTER: PERMANENT OR EYEBROW MODELING?

Modeling lasts up to 6 weeks and costs about 500-1000ZAR. Powdery eyebrows – a procedure for 18 months, it costs about 2200-3200 ZAR. If you divide the cost by the duration of the result, it will come out from 150 ZAR per month. During this period, you will have to spend at least 9000 ZAR or 12 eyebrow modeling procedures. It turns out that a permanent is cheaper in the long term!

Before and after the procedure: how to prepare and how to care

It is possible to help the pigment to lie better in the skin and to transfer healing faster. This will work if, already at the stage of preparation for the procedure, the client fulfills the recommendations:

  • Eliminate medications a day before the permanent, which dilate blood vessels and thin the blood. This includes aspirin and analgesics.
  • Give up caffeine and seafood for a day.
  • For two days, it is advisable not to take alcohol – this also affects the blood flow and lymph flow, as a result, the distribution of pigment in the skin.

When setting the date of the procedure, it makes sense to take into account the menstrual cycle and changes in the hormonal background. Any dates other than the first 2-3 days of menstruation (beginning of the cycle) and ovulation (middle of the cycle) will do.

CARE AFTER PERMANENTCARE AFTER PERMANENT

It is this aspect that most of all affects how long the permanent eyebrow makeup lasts. To the master

it is important to give the client a care sheet so that the experience of the service is as pleasant as possible.

  • Refrain from peeling off the crusts as they heal. If the crusts are damaged, the skin underneath can scar, expelling pigment.
  • For the first 2 days, the area should be wiped with chlorhexidine to disinfect the injured skin (but not with alcohol-containing agents!). It is optimal to do this every 4-6 hours.
  • During the week, it is worth protecting the area after the procedure from excess moisture. A long bath or shower session can soften the crust. Make-up should also be abandoned for a week, so as not to interfere with healing once again.
  • For the first month, it is advisable to reduce the time spent in the active sun, not to visit the solarium. You also need to refrain from saunas, baths, peeling for a month.
  • Sun protection SPF 30-50 will help protect the brightness of the pigment, preserve the color.
