Permanent lip makeup: what is it, techniques

Permanent lip makeup is a beauty procedure where the master improves the client’s external data using various techniques of introducing pigments. The permanent is different from the tattoo used in the past. Previously, tattooing was performed using tattoo pigments with a heavy composition, and tattoo machines with thick needles were used in the work of the master. The pigment was too deep in the delicate skin, which gave a distortion of the shade to bluish, red, brown tones. Preparing for the procedure

So that the lips heal quickly after the procedure, and the dye gives an excellent residue in the skin, you need the right preparation and the same care.

• It is better to set the recording date so that it does not coincide with the beginning or middle of the menstrual cycle. The change in hormonal levels affects how the color takes root in the permanent.
• The day before the appointment, the client must give up caffeine (coffee, tea, energy drinks), alcohol, seafood and drugs that dilate blood vessels and thin the blood (including aspirin-containing drugs). All of these categories of substances can affect the effectiveness of the pain reliever and the distribution of the coloring pigment in the skin.
• A week before the appointment and three days after, it makes sense to take antihistamines (antiallergic) drugs – they help reduce swelling.
• If the client has had herpes in the past, it is worth drinking the anti-herpes remedy 3 days before and 3 days after the session, since during the permanent and correction the damaged tissues become vulnerable to infection.

Healing and care

Here’s what happens to the lips after the permanent:

• The first day, edema is possible, this is natural, and you do not need to do anything with it.
• The first day, it is necessary to periodically blot the skin of the lips after the invasive procedure with a clean cotton pad moistened with chlorhexidine (disinfection).
• After 2-3 days, barely noticeable crusts will appear, as if after light scratches. They will come off on their own, you cannot rip them off – otherwise, scars and seals of the skin may form.
• Once the crusts have peeled off, it may seem that there is too little color left. You need to wait: the pigment will stabilize and appear 3-4 weeks after the procedure, will come to its final state of brightness.
• After a month, 50-60% of the dye remains in the skin, and the time for correction is right. The master evaluates the remaining pigment, sees how the skin behaved, and knows how to bring the result to the desired state.

Correction after lip PM is always needed: to compensate for the loss of color after primary healing and to correct imperfections in filling.

Lip care after a permanent consists of simple steps:

• For the first 3 days, make sure that the skin does not get wet and dry after the procedure. Wipe with a cotton swab with chlorhexidine, first once an hour, then less often, as needed.
• Do not use cosmetics, creams during the healing period (up to 7 days). Consult a professional if you have questions about the possible use of special tools.
• Do not sunbathe for a month after an invasive procedure. Subsequently, in order to maintain the effect as long as possible, it is advisable to use SPF products to protect against ultraviolet radiation.

If we compare the permanent lip makeup in the photo immediately after the procedure and after a few weeks, then the changes will be in the direction of improvement. Swelling and redness will subside, the skin will heal completely, and the pigment will stabilize.
